Small town garage with a big heart. My visit was prompt and professional. The staff was genially warm and friendly. I watched as the owner helped an elderly woman out of her car and to the waiting room which really stole my heart. My oil change was preformed within 20 minutes for the same amount I'd pay at Walmart but with by far more customer service. Gowan's delivers many of the same basic services and repairs you'd get at a quick lube and dealership but with less hassle, less cost and a whole heck of a lot more love. Most shocking is their honesty. I'm done with big dealerships. Gowan's has won my trust and patronage! I have a background in the auto industry and I have to say it's hard to find a shop like this.

On November 7, 2021 my son’s truck malfunctioned on I-24 between Monteagle and Kimbel, TN. Through AAA, Monteagle Truck and Tire came to his rescue!! Chris was amazing! Since the time he was called by AAA Chris kept us informed on his ETA. Once on site, he took time to look the truck over to see if there was a simple solution to the problem that could possibly avoid a tow. Ultimately, my son’s truck was towed to a dealership in Chattanooga. At the dealership, Chris continued to go over and above his call of duty making a difficult situation feel more manageable. He helped my son with the appropriate paperwork and helped him remove oversized items from his truck bed and loaded them into the tow truck in case they would not fit into the rental car my son was going to pick up. From there Chris took these items back to Monteagle for my son to pick up. I can honestly say I have never had roadside assistance that delivered such kindness and compassion for other people. Chris arrived well groomed, kind, personable, and patient. He was obviously very knowledgeable about possible problems with the truck but did not try to pressure us with his knowledge or to persuade us to tow the vehicle to one dealership over another. Thank you Chris for everything you did to make a difficult situation more tolerable. Your compassionate nature has impressed and was definitely very much appreciated. Thank you again! I bought my sister a new care stereo today. This is to replace the brand new she bought in December here at Sound N Wheels. If you ever need a car radio, DO NOT go to Sound N Wheels--after getting installed, we got home and the rear window defroster didn't work. They claimed to have nothing to do with that. After leaving, Renee discovered the CD player is defective. It gets to the middle of every CD and starts skipping. We took it back and they claimed it works fine for them and it must be the CD's and said one problem was that she was listening to books on CD instead of music CD and they didn't recommend that. DUH--like that makes a difference. After "looking" at it to tell us this, we get home and the blinkers and hazard lights no longer work and had to take it back again. They at least fixed whatever they messed up on that. Filed complaint with the Better Business Bureau and saw someone else had a similar experience. They have not answered the complaint. I guess we just eat that wasted money because they won't do anything and we don't trust them to touch the car anymore and wait to see what else they mess up.

Kim has had my Toyota for two years. He took it for a 3 week engine rebuild, and that was in May of 2011. He still has the car, it is so disassembled that I believe towing it out would do damage, and all I ever get from him is: well, worked on it a little bit... or he gives me complaints about how frustrating the car is to work on. This has been an unbelievable experience. Two years and counting. That's how long he's had my car in his garage.
